I’m Tony Steed, an experienced Equality and Human Rights consultant with nearly 30 years of expertise in advancing equality, safeguarding, and inclusion across public services.
Throughout my career, I have worked at a senior level in the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, most recently as Head of Equality and Safeguarding. In this role, I led the development and delivery of equality schemes, safeguarding policies, training programmes, and innovative approaches to consultation and engagement. I have overseen compliance with Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, Disability Duties, and Fair Employment legislation, ensuring that equality and human rights remain at the heart of organisational strategy and service delivery.
Alongside my public sector leadership, I have provided consultancy services to organisations across the UK and Ireland, including the Information Commissioner’s Office and Dorothy McKee Consulting. My consultancy work has focused on compliance reporting, equality impact assessments, training design and delivery, and supporting organisations to embed equality of opportunity into their culture and operations.

I have also contributed to national and regional advisory groups on disability, safeguarding, race equality, and migration, working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to drive meaningful change.
Whether through strategic planning, training, or policy development, my goal is to help organisations not only meet their legal obligations but also create truly inclusive environments where people and communities can thrive.
